A pedestrian has died from injuries he suffered when hit by a car in downtown Columbus.
59-year-old Timothy Kneifel has been pronounced dead at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Columbus police report Kneifel crossed a street in downtown Columbus early Saturday evening near an intersection, but not in a crosswalk. A sedan driven by 51-year-old Kimberly Klassen of Columbus hit Kneifel.
Kneifel was taken to UNMC, but died of his injuries the next day.
Charges are not expected to be filed.
