Nebraska coach Mike Riley says quarterback Tanner Lee may play when the Huskers take a 4-6 record to battles 10th ranked Penn State. Lee returned to practice this week after going through concussion protocol.
“He has practiced pretty well for two full days and has been in tune with what we were doing the other two days”, said Riley. “I don’t think he will be hurt by the time he has missed.”
If Lee does not play, redshirt freshman Patrick O’Brien will get his first collegiate start against a stout Nittany Lion defense that has been a key in Penn State’s 8-2 record.
The weather could also be a factor. Rain is in the forecast all day in State College and Riley says the Huskers worked on wet grass in practice.
“I don’t know if you can ever duplicate a storm but we have been on the grass and you have got to handle the ball”, added Riley. Whoever handles it the best has the best chance to win.”
Kickoff in Beaver Stadium is 3:00p.m. The game will be carried by Fox Sports 1.
