An armored car employee who stole money from an Automatic Teller Machine located at Offutt Air Force Base has been placed on probation and ordered to pay restitution.
23-year-old Jacob McClure turned over $37,000 when confronted by a fellow employee about a discrepancy at the ATM, the cash he had on him. He had taken more than $47,000. McClure since has made partial restitution and now has been ordered by the court to pay the remaining $4,679.
The United States Attorney’s Office reports McClure, an employee of Rochester Armored Car, pleaded guilty to one count of bank larceny. On December 1st of last year, McClure filled an ATM at Offutt with $50,000, but when a customer attempted to withdraw cash later, the ATM wasn’t working.
