Nebraska coach Mike Riley says he remains focused on Friday’s game against Iowa and has not even addressed his future with his players. The Huskers take a 4-7 record into the game against the Hawkeyes and it could be Riley’s final game as head coach.
“I talk to our team as if I am going to be here forever”, said Riley. “And I approach each day like that.”
A year ago the Huskers went to Iowa City with a chance to earn their 10th win of the regular season and were hammered 40-10.
“A disappointing day and a disappointing finish”, added Riley. “That’s why it would be great for this team to put everything aside and finish on a real good note.”
After hammering Ohio State 55-24 two weeks ago the Hawkeyes are limping toward the finish line. The offense struggled for the second straight week in a 24-15 loss to Purdue. Iowa is 6-5.
