Top ranked Penn State and fifth ranked Nebraska enter the final week of the volleyball season tied at the top of the Big Ten and the Huskers look to keep pace with a Wednesday night visit to Northwestern before closing the regular season on Saturday at home against Iowa. The Nittany Lions face road tests at Wisconsin and Minnesota. Nebraska and Penn State have identical 17-1 records in the league race.
“Obviously we are kind of hoping they don’t win at least one of their matches”, said Nebraska senior setter Kelly Hunter. “We are obviously focused on ourselves and none of it matters if we don’t win our two matches.”
The Huskers are 24-4 overall and are riding an 11-match win streak, their longest of the season. A win on Wednesday would match the Huskers’ most-ever wins in Big Ten play, 18, which they set last season to win the conference title outright.
