Investigators are reviewing text messages sent to a Stamford woman just prior to a fatal car-pedestrian crash which took the life of an 86-year-old Holdrege man in June.
Phelps County prosecutors have charged 24-year-old Cattarina Stock with felony vehicular homicide, misdemeanor reckless driving, infraction use of a hand-held wireless communication device, and infraction failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
Stock is charged in connection with the death of Aldon Thieszen, killed June 28th as he walked across West 7th Avenue in the path of a crosswalk.
Police report Stock was engaged in a text exchange prior to the accident in Holdrege and received an explicit text seconds prior to the wreck.
Emergency crews rushed Thieszen to Phelps Memorial Health Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Stock is scheduled to appear in court in January.
