If it was a competition between the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) and Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, one would win for quantity and one would win for creativity.
NSP troopers arrested two men in possession of 126 pounds of marijuana after a traffic stop on I-80 near Lincoln.
The drugs were in six bags and have an estimated value of $378,000.
Lancaster County deputies stopped a car on I-80 and, after smelling marijuana, they discovered four pounds hiding in a large teddy bear.
Those drugs are estimated at $25,000. Two men from California were arrested.
These arrests come just days after NSP Troopers near North Platte discovered 41 pounds of marijuana after an I-80 traffic stop. That includes 38 pounds of edible marijuana products, three pounds of hash oil butter, and 31 grams of marijuana. Three men from Connecticut were arrested during that traffic stop.
