A 67 year old Papillion woman is recovering from a horrific ordeal. Sarpy County Sheriff’s Department’s Chief Deputy Greg London says they were called Wednesday, December 13th to a home near 48th Street and Highway 370 earlier this week.
Deputy Chief London says, “A family friend called 911 because she was concerned because she hadn’t heard from Cheri Langill. Called 911. Our deputies showed up. The first deputy went into the house. He forced entry through the front door and noticed things were amiss.”
That deputy heard the Cheri Langill screaming inside the house and called for a rescue squad. She told officers that she and her husband, 68 year old Karl Langill had gotten into a domestic disturbance on December 7th. He shot Cheri Langill in the head and she laid on the basement floor with that injury for a week before she was rescued. She remains in serious condition at an Omaha hospital
Chief Deputy London says Karl Langill was found deceased in the garage likely due to carbon monoxide poisoning.
