Marcus Foster led Creighton with 32 points as the Jays improve to 9-2.
“I am proud of our guys”, said Creighton coach Greg McDermott. “Nobody has done to Texas-Arlington this year what we did to them today. That is heck of a basketball team with a lot of experience.”
The Mavericks made four three-pointers in the opening four minutes of the second half to quickly close within 57-44 with 16:19 to play. UT Arlington trimmed the margin to single-figures at 61-52 with 12:19 left, and got as close as eight on two occasions in the final 90 seconds before CU closed out the win.
