Nebraska plays its first home game of the new year tonight against Wisconsin in Big Ten play. The Huskers are 2-2 in the league race after a 74-62 loss at fifth ranked Purdue.
” I do believe in our guys”, said Nebraska coach Tim Miles. “Hopefully it will give you a little confidence that you can play with anybody and anywhere.”
Wisconsin (9-8, 2-2 Big Ten) has battled numerous injuries during the first half of the season and comes off a four-point loss to Rutgers on Saturday. The Badgers feature one of the Big Ten’s top players in junior forward Ethan Happ, who averages 16.7 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, leading Wisconsin in all three categories. Happ had 28 points, 10 rebounds and four assists in their win over Indiana last week.
Miles says there is plenty riding on the outcome.
“Taking care of home court and last year this is a team that beat us on our home court in overtime”, added Miles. “You are going one or two directions up or down and I think that makes this a very important game.”
