A 38-year-old Mullen man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for possessing child pornography.
The United States Attorney’s Office reports Bobby Joe Ansley will have to serve 12 years of supervised release upon his release from prison. He also will be required to register as a sex offender.
The office says the Nebraska State Patrol began receiving Cyber Tips from Google in February of 2016 regarding images of sexually explicit conduct involving minors being attached to emails from email addresses associated with Ansley.
A third party informed the patrol in August of 2016 that Ansley used some of the emails addresses referenced by Google. Investigators obtained a search warrant for Ansley’s residence in Mullen and discovered nearly 2,000 images of sexually explicit conduct involving minors on the hard drive of his computer, which included images of child pornography involving children under the age of 12.
Ansley had been previously convicted of sexual abuse in the Southern District of California in 2003.
