A convicted bank robber has been sentenced to six years in federal prison for his part in the robbing of a U.S. Bank branch in Omaha.
The United States Attorney’s Office reports 30-year-old Alan Russell of Omaha has been sentenced by a federal judge to six years in prison followed by five years on supervised release. Russell has also been ordered to pay $21,000 restitution to the bank.
Federal prosecutors say Russell, along with his brother Aaron and Marcus Sanders, robbed the bank on April 30th of 2014. The three pistol-whipped the bank manager and stole approximately $21,000. Aaron Russell and Marcus Sanders pleaded guilty and received prison sentences. Alan Russell went to trial in September 2017 and was convicted of armed bank robbery.
