Those at the Super Bowl will be getting a taste of Omaha in Minneapolis. Deborah Ward is the Vice President of Market for Visit Omaha and says one of the city’s light rail trains is wrapped to promote the city as a year-round travel destination.
Ward says, “We plan to join the Eagles and the Patriots as they head to the Super Bowl and it is actually part of our 2018, 52 weekends advertising campaign. We are trying to promote Omaha as a year-round destination and we found through research that Minneapolis is a great, viable, new city to try to advertise to.”
Ward says the train wrap features four things that are unique and original to Omaha. Those include the Lied Jungle and the Desert Dome at the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, the NCAA College World Series at T-D Ameritrade Park and the reuben sandwich – an Omaha original. Ward says if people are going to eat a reuben they should head to the city where they were created.
Ward says they know that Minneapolis has about three-and-a-half million people and thousands more during Super Bowl festivities. Visit Omaha is hoping the train will be seen at least 6.8 million times during that four month period.
