Omaha police suspect alcohol played a factor in a fatal weekend wreck in which a car going the wrong-way on Highway 75 crashed into a sports utility vehicle very early Sunday morning.
The Omaha Police Department reports the driver of the car, 27-year-old William Villagram of Fremont, died immediately. The driver of the SUV was taken to Nebraska Medicine with minor injuries.
The driver of the SUV, 47-year-old Lonny Jameson of Bellevue, complained of pain to his chest and back.
According to police, the car was traveling north in the southbound lanes of Highway 75 just north of the L Street off-ramp when it collided with the SUV.
Police say alcohol use by the car’s driver is being investigated as one factor in the crash.
