As Nebraskans clean up from two snowfalls this week – round three and four are on the way. National Weather Service Meteorologist Dave Fobert says more snow is in the forecast for Friday morning and again overnight Friday in to Saturday. They will be similar to weather events Monday and Tuesday.
Fobert says, “It will be coming down out of the north and stretching west to east across the Central Plains Region. Once again this isn’t going to be a big, wound-up type of winter storm system. The snow itself is going to be a prolonged event. A couple of periods. It is a long system. It is fairly narrow in its width, basically covering most of Nebraska and stretching into Iowa.”
Round one will start Friday morning with 1-3 inches expected. There will be a break in the afternoon where Nebraskans can clean the sidewalks and driveway before round two hits overnight Friday into Saturday. One to two inches of snow is expected in that system.
Fobert says as far as snowfall, it looks like we will get a bit of a break but the cold temperatures will stick around until the middle of February.
