York County authorities have now released the identities of all four people killed in Tuesday morning’s traffic wreck on an icy Interstate 80.
The York County Sheriff’s Office had stated earlier it had trouble locating the next of kin of two of the four, keeping them from releasing their names.
The final victims to be identified are 26-year-old Jesus Guiterrez and 39-year-old Oscar Suarez, both of Colorado.
Earlier, the sheriff’s office identified the driver of the pick-up as 39-year-old Mario Alberto Suarez Garcia of Edgewater, Colorado. The female passenger in the pick-up was 32-year-old Alejandra Arellano Galaz of Hastings.
According to the York County Sheriff’s Office, the driver of a pick-up traveling east on I-80 Tuesday morning lost control of the truck and crossed the median into on-coming traffic westbound on the interstate. A semi tractor-trailer crashed into the pick-up, killing all four onboard. The truck driver was not injured.
The sheriff’s office reports both the icy conditions and speed played a role in the fatal crash.
All four died immediately from the impact of the collision which occurred shortly after 7 o’clock Tuesday morning between the Utica and Waco exits on I-80.
