Three people have been arrested and more than 200 pounds of marijuana seized during two traffic stops on Interstate 80 near Lincoln.
The Nebraska State Patrol reports a trooper stopped a vehicle traveling east on I-80 which didn’t have a visible front license plate. Moments later, troopers topped another eastbound vehicle for speeding.
Troopers determined the two were traveling together. An NSP K9 was brought to the scene which led to the search of the second vehicle and the discovery of 218 pounds of marijuana located under the bed cover. The marijuana is estimated to be worth $654,000.
The driver of the second vehicle, 53-year-old Bill Yang of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and both occupants of the first vehicle, 31-year-old Ker Lee Yang of Green Bay and 25-year-old Megan Winstead of Owensboro, Kentucky, face drug charges.
All have been jailed in Lancaster County.
