Two have been arrested after a traffic stop on Interstate 80 turns into a drug bust.
The Nebraska State Patrol reports troopers arrested 35-year-old Jeremy Russell of Kentucky and 24-year-old Marina Heavens of Colorado after finding a variety of drugs in their car.
State troopers stopped the car early Tuesday evening after it failed to signal while making a turn at the intersection of Road 755 and Road 427, just south of exit 231 on I-80 in south-central Nebraska’s Dawson County.
A drug dog brought to the scene led troopers to a search of the vehicle. NSP reports finding 15 ounces of methamphetamine, nearly three pounds of marijuana, 1.6 pounds of THC edibles, a small amount of heroin, and drug paraphernalia.
Russell and Havens face multiple drug charges. They have been jailed in Dawson County.
