A California man has been arrested and approximately $600,000 worth of marijuana seized during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Seward County.
The Nebraska State Patrol reports a trooper stopped an eastbound sports utility vehicle for speeding around noon Wednesday at mile marker 372 near Goehner. After detecting the odor of marijuana, troopers searched the SUV and found 199 pounds of high grade marijuana hidden in duffel bags. The street value of the marijuana is estimated at $600,000. Troopers also found a loaded handgun that had been defaced.
26-year-old Edgar Gonzalez of Orlando, California has been arrested and charged with drug and firearm charges. He has been jailed in Seward County.
