A winter weather advisory has been issued for much of Nebraska with a blizzard warning issued for a small portion of the state.
The National Weather Service has posted blizzard warnings for a portion of north-central and northeast Nebraska this morning. A winter weather advisory has been issued for Omaha and Lincoln.
North-central, eastern, and east-central Nebraska remains under a winter weather advisory through today. High wind warnings have been posted through today for western and parts of central Nebraska. Winds are gusting between 40 and 55 miles per hour.
Visibility could be affected for morning commuters. Roads are expected to be slick.
Eastern Nebraska will see blowing snow this morning. There is a slight chance that will change to rain this afternoon. Central Nebraska should see patchy blowing snow today. In the west, blowing snow is forecast for this morning into this afternoon. NWS forecasts highs today between 30 and 36 in eastern and central Nebraska; 32 to 40 in western Nebraska.
There is a chance of light freezing rain tonight in Nebraska, but temperatures are expected to warm tomorrow through the rest of the week, with highs approaching, then surpassing 50 degrees.
