Traffic stops by Nebraska State Patrol troopers recovered a stolen car and confiscated drugs this past weekend.
NSP reports a trooper stopped a vehicle Saturday evening for not having its lights on while driving east on Interstate 80 near mile marker 422. The car had been reported stolen.
The driver, 24-year-old Klayvaughn McBride and passenger 22-year-old Abdilatif Abdi of Omaha face charges of receiving stolen property, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both have been jailed in Cass County
Sunday afternoon, troopers stopped Christopher Friedel of Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Highway 83, just south of I-80, in North Platte.
NSP says a search of the vehicle revealed nine pounds of high grade marijuana and 1.2 pounds of cocaine. The drugs carried an estimated street value of $83,000, according to NSP.
Friedel faces numerous drug charges and has been jailed in Lincoln County.
