A young boy has died, his father has been severely injured in a traffic wreck at a Lincoln intersection.
Lincoln police responded to an emergency call at Cotner and Garland early this morning.
Officer Angela Sands says a pick-up crashed into a car, injuring the driver and trapping 8-year-old Camden King in the car.
“The driver of the sedan, we believe he was ejected and the 10-year-old passenger was trapped,” Sands tells reporters during a briefing. “LFR (Lincoln Fire and Rescue) transported the driver and the 10-year-old to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. LPD recently confirmed the 10-year-old died.”
Sands says the pick-up driver was not seriously injured and is working with police in the investigation of the wreck.
NOTE: The Lincoln Police Department updated the story and corrected the boys age. He is 8-years-old, not 10.
