A 22-year-old Lincoln man has been arrested in connection with a traffic crash which took the life of an 8-year-old boy.
Lincoln police arrested Brandon Valentine last night. He could be charged with manslaughter this afternoon.
Police suspect Valentine was drinking prior to the wreck early on the morning of March 16th at a Lincoln intersection.
Camden King died in the wreck. His father, Jesse, was injured after being thrown from the car. He has been released from the hospital.
Investigators report finding alcohol in Valentine’s pick-up and that he sped off after the crash, reaching 85 miles per hour on a city street within seconds afterward. Police say Valentine had a blood alcohol level of .06, below the legal limit of .08.
Rescue crews which responded to the wreck had to free Camden from the car. He was pronounced dead later at Bryan West Campus hospital.
