It is now 2.9 percent for the state with nonfarm employment totalling 1,006,857.
Private sector growth last month increased the most in education and health services followed by leisure and hospitality.
The Omaha and Lincoln areas followed the 0.1 percent decline in their rates.
The Grand Island area saw its unemployment rate drop from 4.8 percent in January to 3.2 percent in February.
The national seasonally adjusted unemployment rate is 4.1 percent, unchanged from January.
