Drizzle and cold has conspired to cancel the exhibition game scheduled for this evening between the Omaha Storm Chasers and the parent organization, the Kansas City Royals.
This would have been the first time the two teams had played since 2000 and was to be the grand opening of the 50th anniversary of the Omaha Storm Chasers, known formerly as the Omaha Royals.
Omaha Storm Chasers President and General Manager Martie Cordaro made the announcement on the Storm Chasers Facebook page this afternoon after consulting with Kansas City Royals General Manager Dayton Moore.
Cordaro says tickets purchased for the game can be exchanged for any other game this season.
Omaha has been home of the Royals’ Triple A club for 50 years.
The Storm Chasers open the season April 5th.
