A 22-year-old Lincoln man has been shot and killed, likely by someone he knew.
The Lincoln Police Department reports 22-year-old Edgar Union, Jr. was shot and killed shortly before two o’clock Monday afternoon. Police responded to an emergency call in the 3800 block of South 47th Street and found Union suffering from a gunshot wound. Lincoln Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced Union dead a short time later.
The Lincoln Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit and Crime Scene Investigators are on the scene collecting evidence. Follow up interviews are being conducted.
Police say the investigation has revealed those involved were familiar with each other. There does not appear to be any ongoing threat to the public at large.
