Nebraska U.S. Senator Ben Sasse is on Spring Break this week and he’s spending it with several colleagues on a trade trip to Asia.
The senator’s office isn’t releasing any dates for the trip, due to security concerns and other protocols.
During the trip, they’ll be visiting China, South Korea and the Korean Demilitarized Zone.
With escalating concerns about a trade war with China, a news release says the delegation aims to engage in strategic discussions about how best to ensure free and smart trade.
Topics may include: forced technology transfers, discriminatory licensing restrictions, hacking into computer networks and intellectual property theft.
The trip has been six months in the planning.
Others senators on the trip include: Steve Daines of Montana, Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, David Perdue of Georgia and Chuck Grassley of Iowa.
