A southwestern Nebraska man who has had an ongoing and escalating dispute with officials in the village of Stratton has been arrested after law enforcement found an improvised explosive device in his residence.
The Nebraska State Patrol reports investigators arrested 51-year-old Fredrick Hamilton after executing a search warrant on his residence at 105 Howard Street in Stratton.
According to NSP, patrol personnel along with members of the Hitchcock County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant and discovered the improvised explosive device.
Hamilton has been involved in a legal dispute with the village of Stratton. NSP received reports Hamilton made threats against one of the village officials, which included a death threat.
The NSP Bomb Squad defused the bomb.
