One of the busiest weekends for the city of Omaha is underway. Upwards of 40-thousand people are in Omaha to attend the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholder meeting with the “Oracle of Omaha”, Warren Buffett. Shareholders will get the opportunity to visit a number of Berkshire owned businesses while in town. Adrienne Fey is the marketing director for Borsheims Jewelry at Regency Court and says shareholders will get treated to an exclusive day of shopping.
Fey says, “We find that those shareholders who are really big Warren aficionado love something with his signature on it. It speaks to that shareholder who loves jewelry and loves Mr. Buffett.” Some of the biggest sellers are a strand of pearls to a sparkle pen. Fey says it is all about take a memory of the weekend home with them.
Borsheims will kick off the event with a cocktail reception for members and then will be open Sunday for the shareholder’s shopping day. The big meeting will be held Saturday at the CenturyLink Center. 87 year old Buffett and his sidekick, 94 year old Charlie Munger are the stars of the show. Buffett will spend about six hours answering questions from investors. The meeting runs through Sunday.
