A two-year-old has died from injuries suffered in a hit-and-run crash Monday in Omaha.
Omaha police report Devon Morris, who wasn’t restrained in the vehicle, suffered head and chest injuries. An autopsy has been scheduled.
Police say 18-year-old Mar’Keshia Devers was driving on Fontenelle Blvd. late Monday afternoon when she was struck by a sports utility vehicle which ran a red light at an intersection. Witnesses reported the driver and a passenger in the SUV fled on foot. Police says it appears the SUV was speeding.
Devers suffered bumps and bruises. A five-year-old in the car, Steve Russell, suffered a broken leg. He also wasn’t restrained.
Another passenger, 16 year old Talesha Glover-Flakes, was treated for a non-life threatening head injury.
Police continue to look for those who fled the scene.
