A fatal crash is prompting an eastern Nebraska sheriff to remind travelers to stay focused when behind the wheel. Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner tells Nebraska Radio Network affiliate KLIN that a preliminary investigation shows a distraction inside the vehicle lead to the crash.
“It was over the radio,” Sheriff Wagner says, ” the passenger was turning it down and he was turning it up.”
Sheriff Wagner says that small, momentary distraction led the car to veer off road, prompting the driver to over-correct and lose control of his S.U.V as it traveled traveled on Highway 6 in Waverly last week.
” It’s just so important that people focus on driving the car,” says Sheriff Wagner, ” Because when your mind goes one way, it’s a good chance that your physical actions will go that same direction. I think that’s what happened here.”
The driver, 24-year old Dylan Lang died from his injuries .
