State officials have file murder charges against two people long considered prime suspects in the disappearance and death of Sydney Loofe of Lincoln.
Prosecutors with the Attorney General’s office filed first-degree murder charges against 51-year-old Aubrey Trail and his 23-year-old girlfriend, Bailey Boswell, in Saline County in Wilber.
Prosecutors also have charged the two with improper disposal of human skeletal remains.
Loofe’s remains were discovered in Clay County December 4th of last year. She was 24.
Trail earlier confessed to Loofe’s death during interviews with the news outlets. He claimed Boswell had nothing to do with the death.
Federal officials charged the two earlier with transporting stolen items across state lines. They are accused of taking stolen merchandise from Hiawatha, Kansas to Beatrice, Nebraska.
Both have been held in Lincoln on the federal charges.
Loofe, originally from Neligh, was reported missing November 16th when she failed to report for work at a store in Lincoln. Family members say she had gone out the night before with someone she had met online. She had last been seen in Wilber.
