Damage assessments are underway after a line of severe thunderstorms moved through eastern Nebraska Monday afternoon and evening. The storms produced brief tornadoes by Louisville in Cass County. Assistant Emergency Management Director Roseanne Dobesh-DeGraff says they are currently accessing damage.
Dobesh-DeGraff says, “We have crews out accessing damage. We have had some reports of smaller structures like sheds and out buildings that were affected by the wind. A lot of tree damage, small branches up to 10 inch branches that have come down throughout the county. The crews are out checking the damage and trying to track the path of the storm along with the Weather Service.”
A tornado also was reported near Murray, Cedar Creek and in Table Rock. The storm also produced golf ball sized hail and 80 mph wind.
The assessment could take several days to complete.
