An infant has died at a day care in Lincoln Tuesday afternoon after resuscitation efforts failed.
Lincoln police say caregivers began performing CPR. Rescue workers continued the efforts upon arrival. They rushed the baby to a local hospital, but the infant was pronounced dead shortly after four o’clock that afternoon, about an hour after Lincoln Police and Fire and Rescue crews responded.
The identity of the infant has not been released.
Police say preliminary results show no evidence of foul play. The investigation into the death continues. The Lancaster County Attorney’s Office has ordered an autopsy to be performed.
