It will be another rainy late afternoon and evening for those attending the College World Series in Omaha. National Weather Service Meteorologist Dave Fobert says the weather will clear for two or three hours this afternoon before more showers head into eastern Nebraska.
Fobert says, “Most of the rain has moved out of the central part of the state right now and things are starting to shift more to the north towards South Dakota and southern Minnesota. That will gradually wrap around back into eastern Nebraska area tonight and into tomorrow and we really don’t dry out until Friday.”
Fobert says there is an upper level low pressure system that is tracking slowly across the area and until that system moves out to our southeast we will continue to see periods of rain and showers. The good news is that no severe weather is in the immediate forecast.
It has been a soggy week for Nebraska. Rain started in some areas on Sunday and will continue through Thursday. Rain totals, depending on the area, could be in the three to eight inch range.
