A 12-year-old girl struck by a baseball during the College Home Run Derby remains in critical condition.
Ashlyn Lutz of Lincoln was rushed to Nebraska Medical Center after being knocked unconscious Sunday night while she was walking behind right center field at TD Ameritrade Park.
An Omaha man tells the Omaha World-Herald the ball hit the left side of her head above her ear. She fell face-first to the concrete he says.
Those in attendance shouted for police and medics after the ball struck Ashlyn. Officials with TD Ameritrade Park report medics at the stadium treated the girl before she was rushed to the hospital.
The home run derby featured six of the best power hitters in college baseball.
