A Florida man is facing charges after firing a gun into a minivan after he left a construction zone on I-80 in Western Nebraska near Kimball.
Nebraska State Patrol Spokesman Cody Thomas says the incident began Wednesday morning when the victim came up behind the suspect who was moving slowly, according to Thomas. After some time, the victim began honking his horn and flashing his lights to encourage the suspect to speed up.
“So when the construction zone came to an end and both lanes of traffic where then open, the suspect vehicle stayed in the passing lane where as the minivan tried to pass on the right,” says Thomas.
That’s when the suspect took his shot.
“The bullet fragmented, went through the driver’s window, lodged itself inside the dash near the speedometer,” causing minor injuries to the driver from bullet fragments and broken glass, according to Thomas.
