If your idea of camping is a 4 star hotel, Nebraska Game and Parks Commission may change your mind. Spokesperson Greg Wagner says they have the perfect solution for those who are not a big fan of roughing it. He says the popularity of the “glamping” cabins around the country is unbelievable and they needed to join the bandwagon.
Wagner says. “There are some modern conveniences of home but you can roll that bed out and sleep under the stars if you want to. They are all tucked into the forest at Platte River State Park. It is a hybrid between tent camping and staying in a cabin. It has some of the modern conveniences.”
The three “glamping” cabins include Wi-Fi, kitchen, bathroom, air conditioning and heat so they can be used year round. Wagner says they are taking reservations now for the “glamping” tents. He says if they are a success more may be built in the future.
Platte River State Park is located near Louisville.
