Many Nebraskans who enjoy boating on the Missouri River rely on the boat ramp at NP Dodge Park in north Omaha. That ramp and marina closed in June due to river flooding. Omaha Parks and Recreation Director Brook Bench says both were reopened this morning.
Bench says, “The water is down finally enough to where we can open the public ramp. It is one of the only public ramps in the area. We are still working on some of the fields so the field use will be restricted but the rest of the park will be open.”
Bench says they will have to reseed some areas. Six fields are playable but the cricket and several soccer fields are restricted right now but others are bouncing back from the flooding well.
The campground will remain closed until further notice.
