Two men have been arrested and nearly 100 pounds of marijuana seized during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 near Cozad.
The Nebraska State Patrol reports a trooper stopped a westbound pick-up Tuesday night for failing to signal. During the traffic stop, a drug dog from the Dawson County Sheriff’s Department sniffed out a controlled substance inside the vehicle.
A search of the pick-up found 94 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $282,000.
The driver, 26-year-old Michael Hedges and his passenger, 25-year-old Brandon Cannon, have been arrested on drug charges. Both are from Oregon. Both have been jailed in Dawson County.
