The number of Nebraskans choosing to vote early is on the rise, according to the Secretary of State’s office.
Deputy Secretary of State Wayne Bena says, while it depends on the election, his office is seeing more Nebraskans choosing to submit their vote before Election Day.
“Some folks just like the convenience of being able to have their ballot in the comfort of their living room or kitchen, study the candidates and then vote their ballot.” Says Bena.
Bena says the trend is showing signs of increasing with in all voters, regardless of party affiliation.
“pretty much it goes the entire swath,” he notes.
Nebraskans can apply to vote early by contacting their County Clerk or Election Commissioner up to 120 days before Election Day. Early voting ballots for November will be mailed to voters beginning October 1st. Early Voters can also cast their ballots at the Secretary of State’s office starting October 9th.
