An inmate at the Work Ethic Camp in McCook escaped last night.
The Department of Correctional Services reports 20-year-old Christian Reinke left the camp shortly after 8 o’clock.
Corrections has notified local law enforcement as well as the Nebraska State Patrol. The work camp has been secured. An emergency count has been conducted with all other inmates accounted for.
Corrections describes Reinke as a 20-year-old white male, 5’10″, 140 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing khaki pants, a gray shirt, and white shoes.
Reinke had a tentative release date of December 18th of 2022. He was serving five to 10 years on one count of burglary in Nuckolls County and up to one year for theft by receiving $1,500 to $5,000 in Sarpy County. He is eligible for parole in 2019.
Anyone with information as to Reinke’s whereabouts is asked to contact local authorities or the Nebraska State Patrol.
The Work Ethic Camp in McCook is a minimum-security prison. Inmates there work in the community with intermittent supervision.
