After weathering a long dry spell, Husker Hounds in Omaha says items are flying off the shelf. Owner Scott Strunc says, “We haven’t seen anything like this since we first started in the 90’s. Fans are coming in absolutely so excited for the season they can’t wait. It has definitely been a breath of fresh air.”
Strunc says the hottest selling items are anything associated with Head Coach Scott Frost. He says their sold 5,000 Frost Warning coozies. They also have Frost Warning license plate frames, automotive flags and about 45 styles of T-shirts that have a Frost saying on them.
Strunc says they took a chance and placed big orders of Frost items early on and he is so pleased that investment is paying off. He says, “We’ve ridden out a hard storm that some other Husker stores weren’t able to survive. A lot of people who sold Husker gear have gone by the wayside in the last five years. It hasn’t been easy but we are really excited about the future again.”
Strunc says it is good to see fans excited about the Huskers again. He says the fans are excited that Frost is back and things can finally get back to normal in Nebraska again.
The Husker’s first game is Saturday against Akron.
