Omaha’s auditorium, convention center and arena in the downtown area is going through a transformation of sorts. As of September 1st, it is officially CHI Health Center Omaha. Roger Dixon is the President and CEO of the Metropolitan Entertainment & Convention Authority and says the complete transition from the CenturyLink Center to CHI Health Center Omaha will take a while.
Dixon says, “There is a lot of work going on getting the signs down and we are in the process of bidding out for getting the new brand in place but it isn’t just signage. It is stationary, all the paper products, uniforms and websites. Actually, everyone is enjoying going through this process.”
Dixon says they have been working taking down some of the signs themselves.
The new naming rights agreement totaled $23.5 million over the course of a 20 year term. Funding for the project will come from CHI’s marketing budget and will not pull dollars from other areas of their health care operation.
