A 23-year-old Lincoln man has been sentenced to up to 18 years in prison for a fatal wreck in March which took the life of an eight-year-old boy.
Brandon Valentine earlier pleaded guilty to a charge of manslaughter in the death of Camden King.
Lincoln police say Valentine was hungover and driving 85 miles per hour in a 30-mph zone the morning of the crash which killed Camden and injured Jesses King, Camden’s father, who was taking the boy to day care.
Rescue crews freed Camden from the wreck and rushed him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
With Nebraska’s good-time prison sentencing law, Valentine is anticipated to serve at least eight years of his sentence.
