The sun is shining and flood water is beginning to recede in Hope Mills, North Carolina where Nebraska Task Force One is preparing to return home.
In a tweet late Wednesday afternoon, the task force reported it would begin to pack up and head home starting Thursday morning.
Task Force Chief Roger Bonin says rescue operations , for the most part, proceeded as planned.
“There’s always a little bit of chaos involved,” says Bonin. “Sometimes everything isn’t as scripted as well as we’d like, but we’ve been able to adapt and overcome any issues that we’ve had.”
