A Nebraska felon on parole is suspected of kidnapping and killing a 22-year-old Omaha woman last seen last Monday.
Omaha police say 39-year-old Jeremiah Connelly led them to the body of Jeanna Wilcoxen after an officer pulled him over during a traffic stop and he made a brief bid to flee.
According to Omaha police, Connelly was pulled over Friday after driving recklessly. Connelly ran from the car, but was captured after a brief chase. Officers determined the car had been stolen. Police say Connelly, during questioning, volunteered that a woman had been dead since Monday.
Homicide detectives were called in. Connelly led them to Wilcoxen’s body in a ditch near Fremont.
Connelly served more than 12 years in prison for attempted kidnapping of a woman. He also had been convicted of robbery and arson and had committed second-degree assault in prison. He was paroled in June.
