A Massachusetts man has been sentenced in Omaha to 5 ½ years in federal prison for receiving child pornography.
The Nebraska U.S. Attorney’s office says 30-year-old Michael Correia of New Bedford, Massachusetts will have to serve five years of supervised release after prison and will be required to register as a sex offender.
FBI Cyber Crimes Task Force agents from Omaha in August of 2016 noticed an IP address sharing child pornography associated with Correia’s apartment complex. A federal search warrant served in February of 2017 on Correia’s residence discovered a video of child pornography. Computer forensics determined the device had been used to view other images and videos of child pornography.
