Scott Frost spoke passionately at the podium after Saturday’s loss to Purdue. Today, Frost was more subdued, but his message hasn’t wavered.
Among Frost’s concerns, is the lack of discipline Nebraska showed against the Boilermakers. For a team that is getting a fresh start under a new head coach, those issues need to be ironed out immediately.
“Sometimes, when you’re building a new house, you can’t build it on a new foundation or else you won’t have a house for very long,” Frost said.
Plenty of personnel changes were announced in the game notes released Monday. Tanner Farmer will take over at center for the injured Cole Conrad.
Boe Wilson, who got the start at right guard against Purdue, will continue in that role for the foreseeable future. Kade Warner, son of former NFL quarterback Kurt Warner, will again get the start over Mike Williams.
For his stellar performance on Saturday, Devine Ozigbo has emerged as the leading running back. With Mick Stoltenberg still out with an injury, Carlos Davis is the starting nose guard. Eric Lee is starting opposite Dicaprio Bootle, replacing Lamar Jackson, who was benched against Purdue.
Freshman linebacker Will Honas is out for the Season with ligament damage to his knee. The coaching staff will likely take advantage of the NCAA’s new redshirt rule that allows players to redshirt if they’ve played in four games or less.
The Huskers will take on Wisconsin this upcoming Saturday at 6:30.
