Senator Fischer reading classified FBI report on Kavanaugh today

October 4, 2018 By Karla James

Senator Deb Fischer today is reading the classified FBI supplemental investigation report into Supreme Court Nominee Brett Kavanaugh. For now she is standing firm on her decision to support Kavanaugh and says that report would have to contain some damning information for her to withdraw her decision.

Fischer says, “It would have to be really something earth shattering I think in that report at this point in time and there is no indication of that, that we are hearing this morning.”

Fischer says she’s aware of several of her colleagues, including Senators Collins and Murkowski, who are on the fence and they will be in the spotlight as a vote to confirm Kavanaugh continues.

Senator Fischer is also hoping this will bring some closure to the issue.

This FBI classified supplemental investigation involves sexual assault claims made against Kavanaugh.
